from time to time i will post some here
here is the first, hope you l,ike it:
The MVP’s Broken Arm
“Smack!” went the ball. “That’s got to be a double,” I thought. Sure enough it was a hard hit ball into deep left field. Normally I would’ve gotten a triple, but they got the baseball in faster. It was 5-2, in the top of the 6th inning, we were winning, but there were two outs. The next batter got walked, while I stole 3rd base on a wild pitch. The next batter grounded out.
In the second part of the inning, my friend Jay went to pitch.
He was a very strong pitcher, he threw it extremely fast. He struck out all the batters one by one. We had advanced in the tournament, with that win. Of course we were very happy, and we celebrated after the game with a hotdog and some soda. Six teams were playing; the fourth place team beat the third place team. The second place team beat the fifth place team. Also the first place team (my team) beat the sixth place team.
As always, the Snack Shack was out of workers, so they took in volunteers. My mother decided to volunteer for the other teams that were playing. After all the other kids left, I found a tennis ball, and started playing with some other kids a game called ”Butts-up”. What happened was kids threw the tennis ball against a wall, if you caught the ball before it touched the wall, the thrower got a letter. Also if you drop the ball in any way, you had to run to touch the wall before anyone picked up the ball, and throw it against the wall before you touched the wall. If the throw got there before you did, you got a letter.
I then found one of my teammates called Trenton. I asked if he wanted to play, he said yes. Toward the middle of the game, I was winning. I didn’t have a single letter. Then I was prepared to pick up the ball, and of course, I dropped it. I was speeding to the wall, and I thought I was going to make it, but I tripped over a small trench. I stumbled over and accidentally smashed my arm against the wall. “OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW”,
I yelled.” OWWWW” “OWWWW”. I ran over to sit down on a bench. Some one who was playing ran over to get some ice, and told my mom. I iced my arm until my mom found me, and off to the hospital we went.
When I got Kaiser Emergency Hospital, I received a room, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, my dad had arrived. He told me that I had slept for two hours, and that the doctor had came in once and had introduced himself to them. ten minutes later the doctor came back in. First he looked at my arm, and took me to get some x-rays of my arm. Five minutes later in the waiting room, he told my parents and I that he was sure that my arm was broken.
Of course, we had to wait an hour for a bone specialist to arrive for further examination. He also thought the same thing. Then I was brought into a room and the doctor told me to stay strong. THE GUY STARTED PULLING ON MY ARM LIKE A MADMAN! He looked like he was ripping and shredding my arm to pieces, like a wild dog. After he was done, it felt much better, still broken, but much better. After that he gave me a sling for my arm, told me to keep my arm upright, and let me leave the hospital.
When I got home I watched a little television, not wanting to finish up my homework because I received a slip that had excused me. I kept my arm upright. Later that evening I went to bed, thinking how on earth I would tell this to my friends tomorrow at school. A couple days later, after the swelling got better, I got a long arm cast, for protection.
Then I had to go to Catalina Island in a full arm cast! I could not even go in the water. I went there because it was a Boy Scout summer camp. I couldn’t have done the active merit badges, like: Sports, archery, rifle, rowing, personal fitness, and many more. I still had a lot of fun, even though I went there in a full arm cast that went up to my shoulder. My parents had sent me letters on how my baseball team did. We had won the tournament that we had been in, and went to another. In that tournament we came in second place! I was ecstatic for my team. When I went home, I told them that they had done an excellent job.
